Scholarship overview
What is the FES-UA Scholarship?
The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) provides eligible Florida families with an education savings account that may be used toward approved educational expenses and services.
Because scholarship eligibility, funding, and program requirements are established through the Step Up for Students program, families should visit the official Step Up for Students website for current information about applying for or managing a scholarship.
Using funds for therapy
Can I use my Step Up scholarship at Imagine Pediatric Therapy of Brevard?
Families participating in the FES-UA Scholarship may use available scholarship funds toward eligible services provided by us.
Our practice provides pediatric speech-language and feeding evaluations and therapy. The eligibility of individual services and availability of scholarship funds are determined according to current FES-UA guidelines and the family’s scholarship account.
EMA Marketplace
How do I find Imagine Pediatric Therapy in EMA?
Families using scholarship funds can search for approved providers and services through the EMA Marketplace.
After logging into EMA:
- Select Marketplace
- Choose Find Providers
- Select the student receiving services
- Search for Imagine Pediatric Therapy or Imagine Pediatric Therapy of Brevard
- Select the recommended service for your child
- Add the service to your cart
- Select Reserve Funds
If you plan to use scholarship funds to pay our practice directly through EMA, funds should be reserved for the agreed-upon service dates before services are provided.
Payment options
How does payment work?
Families generally have two ways to use eligible FES-UA funds for services:
Direct payment through EMA
Families may reserve available scholarship funds for an eligible service through the EMA Marketplace. After the service is provided, Imagine Pediatric Therapy submits the service for payment through EMA.
Paying out of pocket and requesting reimbursement
Families may also choose to pay for eligible services directly and submit a reimbursement request through their EMA account.
Reimbursement decisions are made through the Step Up for Students program. Families choosing this option should confirm current reimbursement requirements and the eligibility of the service before paying out of pocket.
What documentation will I receive if I request reimbursement?
When a family pays Imagine Pediatric Therapy directly, we provide a detailed paid invoice that may be used when submitting a reimbursement request through EMA.
Families are responsible for submitting their reimbursement request and any required supporting documentation directly to Step Up for Students.
What if my scholarship funds do not cover the full cost of services?
Families are responsible for any portion of the cost that is not covered by available scholarship funds. We encourage families to review their available scholarship balance before beginning services and periodically throughout treatment.
