SLP Job Description

Imagine Pediatric Therapy of Brevard is a child and family centered agency who specializes in providing Early Intervention and Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy Services. We are seeking a highly qualified, organized and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. We specialize in Early Intervention and Preschool age children, but also receive referrals for a varied pediatric caseload. We strive to provide a flexible work schedule. Available positions are perfect for supplementing a school-based SLP’s schedule or someone seeking part-time work. The Speech-Language Pathologist will participate in a multidisciplinary team approach with other Early Steps providers, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, developmental specialists and other support staff as needed. 

Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in Communication Science and Disorders
  • Active Florida SLP License
  • Active ASHA’s Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Individual Medicaid Provider ID or willing to complete Medicaid Provider Enrollment.
  • Must be eligible for Early Steps Enrollment.
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 5 cases per week.
  • English and Bilingual English-Spanish SLP positions available.

*Guidance through Medicaid and Early Steps Enrollment will be provided.

Experience: One year minimum experience working with children birth to five, preferably in home or other natural environments outside the clinical setting. Experience in the areas of oral motor and sensory feeding deficits, motor-based speech disorders, hearing impaired/cochlear implant, Down-Syndrome, and Autism is a plus. Must be knowledgeable in implementing routine-based intervention and parent coaching approaches. Must be comfortable implementing a bagless approach to Early Intervention therapy. Administrative or Clinical Intern/Externship experiences do not apply to required professional experience.

Job Type: Independent Contractor or W2 Employee options.

Pay: $45-60 per billable hour, based on experience.

Schedule: Flexible schedule based on mutual agreement with patients/families.

Location: Commute in South Brevard County in areas of preference (Beachside, Melbourne, West Melbourne, Rockledge, Viera, Palm Bay, Grant-Valkaria). However, greater areas of need are in West Melbourne, Palm Bay, and Grant Valkaria.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform evaluations, provide treatment sessions, and complete written documentation in a timely manner following state and federal guidelines.
  • Implement child-led and parent coaching approaches in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare/preschool setting, community).
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with family and caregivers on an ongoing and consistent basis.
  • Schedule sessions following the recommended frequency of services.
  • Complete documentation through the company’s EHR System.
  • Communicate clearly with the Clinical Director, Early Steps staff, and Interdisciplinary Team on client cases.
  • Participate in selecting appropriate developmental outcomes as part of the Family Support Team planning process.
  • Serve as the primary service provider or therapist as part of an Early Steps team assigned to individual children and families.
  • Coach families and care providers to enhance their capacity to increase child learning related to identified IFSP outcomes.
  • Complete appropriate Continuing Education and training required for professional license renewal.
  • Attend Early Steps and other training necessary to maintain skills and knowledge as part of the birth to three multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in external and internal quality assurance activities as necessary to meet the Early Steps program, state, and federal requirements.

  • Personal protective equipment recommended during sessions (mask and/or shield, gloves for feeding therapy). Recommendations will be updated following CDC guidelines.
